Christmas In Cobh is an initiative of See You in Cobh and this is our sixth year of compiling the Events Guide.

This year we have again teamed up with Cobh Edition and our Events Guide is incorporated into the Cobh Edition Events, News and Info Guides which will be published on 1st December and 15th December. It will be available free of charge from most shops and retail outlets in Cobh.

Christmas in Cobh 2013 starts on Saturday, 30th November when Santa Claus arrives in Cobh. He will arrive from Top of the Hill in a big red truck at 12 noon and make his way down past the Cathedral and Ryng’s corner and along the town to his magical grotto in Cobh Heritage Centre. This year the Cobh area is well served with Christmas experiences, but Santa has been arriving in Cobh and welcoming children to his grotto since See You in Cobh was formed following the Christmas in Cobh initiative in 2008. This year will be no exception and children can visit him from 12.30 to 4.30 pm for just €5 (accompanying parents are free!) and each child will receive a parcel.

Professional photographs, printed on the spot will also be available for €5. A free Arts and Crafts workshop will take place all afternoon and See You in Cobh would be delighted if anyone with clean jam jars could donate them by contacting Ursula Duffy on 085 1668271 . At 5pm St. Colman’s Pipe Band and Cobh Animation team will lead the Children’s torch lit procession from the Heritage Centre to the Christmas tree, where the lights will be switched on. A performance by Cobh Confraternity Band will add plenty of Festive Cheer.

Christmas in Cobh Christmas cards and Cobh Tidy Towns Calendars are now on sale in the Cathedral shop and other outlets and will also be on sale in Garvey’s Super Valu on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 28th, 29th & 30th November.
